Who runs this site?

KC Wellness Directory is run by Dr. Ladd Carlston, DC — a practicing chiropractor in the Kansas City area. It's a passion project, not a venture-backed startup. Real human, real email, no data broker lurking behind the scenes.

What data do we collect?

If you're just browsing the directory or reading articles, we don't collect anything from you. No analytics, no tracking pixels, no cookies that follow you around the internet. Just pages and words.

If you're a practitioner who signs up for a listing, we collect what you'd expect: your name, email, phone (optional), practice name, address, website, and the details you want on your public profile. You typed them; we saved them. That's the whole story.

If you fill out the contact form or email us, we keep that message so we can reply to you. Obviously.

Why do we collect it?

• To show practitioners to patients in the public directory (that's the whole point).
• To send you account emails — verification, password resets, important notices about your listing.
• To reach out about the directory when relevant (you can always tell us to stop).
• To answer questions you send us.

Who do we share it with?

We don't sell your data. Ever. Full stop.

We do use a couple of trustworthy services behind the scenes to keep the site running:

• Mailgun sends and receives our email. If you email us, the message passes through their servers.
• Railway hosts our app and database. Standard cloud infrastructure stuff.

Both are professional services with their own privacy practices. Neither one gets a copy of your data to do whatever they want with — they just help deliver the service.

Cookies and tracking

We use one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you logged in if you have a practitioner account. No analytics cookies, no advertising trackers, no third-party pixels, no Google/Meta tags.

How long do we keep your data?

Practitioner accounts stick around as long as your listing is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your listing, we'll remove your personal info from the live site and purge it from the database within 30 days (some may linger briefly in backups — that's how backups work).

How do I delete my data?

Email drladd@kcwellnessfinder.com from the address associated with your account and say "please delete my data." We'll take care of it and confirm when it's done. No forms, no portal, no seven-step verification loop. A human will read your email.

Security

Passwords are hashed (never stored in plain text). Traffic is over HTTPS. That said, no system is 100% bulletproof — we do our best to keep things tight, but please don't email us your medical history.

Kids

This site isn't for kids. Practitioner sign-up is for licensed professionals, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top and — if you're a registered practitioner — send you a heads-up email.
